... coaching 22U elite baseball players is one of my life's joys and recently I've learned that my spicy, opinionated posts on LinkedIn have been impacting these college athletes ... now what am I going to do?
... absolutely NOTHING! Why? Because the Justin they know on the ball diamond is the same Justin they read in these posts ... and they're just fine with that!
... this is one of my most important values ... that there's only one YOU, so be that person all the time! Life's simpler this way ... for you and everyone around you
... as you read these posts, I'm guessing some of you wouldn't want me coaching your children in the future, ya I get that
... but what these parents and players know is that on the other side of a few expletives is an aspiring leader and coach trying to get better every day to make this season a rewarding experience - FIRST for their children, SECOND for the Coaches, and THIRD for the parents!
... and to be clear, our rewards will have little to do with WINNING, and everything to do with lessons around Respect, Teamness, and Character
... I feel the same way about my teams in my professional career, and I spend more time coaching respect, teamness, character, and professionalism than I do elevator pitches, objection-handling, and negotiating techniques
... I believe when you start by building up the person and the team, the winning takes care of itself
... my players and sellers will remember these important lessons and succeed because of them, longer than they'll remember the score. PERFECT!
… see you on the diamond this weekend ... LFG 🔥
